Anyone within the province of Ontario, Canada can pursue services with us.
The cost varies depending on the type of service you need. Standard one-on-one counseling sessions will be $160 per 50 minutes.
The overall going rate for Psychotherapy in Ontario is around $180-200, however that expense may not be possible for most people.
A limited number of sliding-scale rates are available specifically for those who are low-income. Please reach out via the Book an Appointment page to discuss fees and available sliding-scale options.
QED Mental Health Counseling doesn’t offer direct billing with an insurance provider, and cannot guarantee that services will be covered by your specific plan.
You will receive a receipt which you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Counseling provided by an MSW RSW are also tax deductible as a medical expense!
Counseling with only one L is the preferred spelling in the US, where M is originally from.
They probably should have considered the Canadian spelling before registering trade names and buying a website domain for 4 years but here we are.

M Jaro specializes in Anxiety, OCD, BFRBs, ADHD, Phobias and Sexuality/Gender concerns. However, they have been a clinician in multiple settings and they treat a wide range of patients including but not limited to Mood disorders, PTSD, Complex Grief, Personality Disorders, Autism Spectrum related challenges, Bipolar Disorder, and Psychotic Disorders.
This is entirely up to you. Many patients start with weekly and then move to bi-weekly or monthly once they’re more confident in what they’ve learned.
You are not locked into a specific schedule. M Jaro is happy to work with you to determine the best frequency as you progress, and will help update your sessions to more or less often as is needed.

Improvement on a small scale usually happens within a few months, but complete resolution of symptoms (if possible) is affected by many things.
Severity of symptoms, socioeconomic status, housing, personal circumstances, race/ethnicity, resources available, social supports, and more can all play into how easy or difficult it can be to overcome struggling with our mental health. There is rarely an “average” timeline.
